Privacy Policy
Working draft — review for the jurisdictions where the site operates. This policy describes the current static deployment of SecretChapters (mahmuda.fun).
Optional account (email + password)
Creating an account is optional and is only needed to read member-only stories. If you sign up, we store your email address and a salted, hashed version of your password (PBKDF2-SHA256) — never your password itself. Logging in creates a session token stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie. We do not require or offer sign-in through Google, Facebook or any other third party. We do not sell or share your email address; it is used only for account verification, password-reset links and (if you choose to log in) recognizing you as a member.
Ratings and reviews
Ratings and reviews are active. Submitting a rating or review sends a story identifier, the rating or review text, an optional display name, a client-generated anonymous key (not tied to your account or email), and a moderation status to our Cloudflare-backed database. Reviews are held for moderation before appearing publicly. This works whether or not you have an account.
Analytics
Google Analytics is used only after a visitor selects “Accept analytics” in the cookie notice. It helps us understand aggregate traffic and performance. If analytics is rejected, the Google Analytics script is not loaded, and no client identifier is available for the events described next. When analytics is accepted and you create an account or log in, our server also sends a corresponding sign_up or login event directly to Google Analytics (Measurement Protocol) using that same client identifier — this is more reliable than browser-only tracking but is still gated on the same accept/reject choice; it is skipped entirely if you rejected analytics. Google may process data under its own terms and policies.
Local browser storage
The theme preference, cookie-consent choice, session token (if logged in) and an anonymous review key may be stored locally in your browser. These values are not sent to a SecretChapters server except as needed to operate the account, rating and review features described above.
Advertising and external links
Third-party ad networks, native ads and sponsored links may set or read cookies or similar technologies under their own privacy policies. External websites, including linked social profiles, are independent services.
Age restriction
This website contains adult content and is intended for adults aged 18 or older only. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live, if higher), do not visit, access or use this website — please leave now. Do not use the site if adult content is unlawful for you to access in your jurisdiction. Parents and guardians: consider using content-filtering or parental-control software, as this site does not verify age.
